What we have done so far

More than 75 percent of people with haemophilia around the world have limited or no access to diagnosis and treatment, particularly in the developing world. The WFH Humanitarian Aid Program helps address the lack of access to care and treatment by providing support for people with inherited bleeding disorders in 112 countries. By providing a more predictable and sustainable flow of humanitarian aid donations of Factor VIII and Factor IX, the programme allows for people living with haemophilia to receive consistent and reliable access to treatment and care.¹

In 2020, Sobi and Sanofi announced the agreement to extend their support of the programme by an additional donation of up to 500 million international unit (IU) of Factor VIII and Factor IX for humanitarian aid, thereby fulfilling the 2014 pledge to donate up to an unprecedented 1 billion IU of Factor VIII and Factor IX over a 10-year period.¹

Sobi’s commitment extends beyond donations to include training programmes for care providers and patients, building local capacity for better diagnosis and long-term sustainable changes.²
