Governance
The board
Sobi’s board has overall responsibility for Sobi’s sustainability performance and material topics. Plans and progress are reported to the board regularly, together with outcomes of sustainability risk assessments and adverse events. The board approves the annual sustainability report.
Management
The CEO and the Executive committee approve Sobi’s sustainability strategy, ensure compliance, decide on overall objectives, manage the implementation of the sustainability strategy, and monitor overall progress. Leadership teams in each respective area are responsible for strategy implementation and follow-up.
Human rights
We support and respect the protection of internationally adopted human and labour rights, reflected in our Code of Conduct. In our daily business and throughout our operations, we support ethical guidelines such as the International Bill of Human Rights, the International Labour Organization’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, and the United Nations Convention against Corruption as outlined in the Ten Principles of the UNs Global Compact, to which we are a signatory party.
We fully support the Political Declaration on Universal Health Coverage (UHC) adopted by the UN member states, which states that it is the right of every human being, without distinction of any kind, to enjoy the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health. We also recognise the needs of the rare disease community mentioned in the UHC declaration.
