At Sobi we are driven by our passion to help people with rare conditions live the life they want, but we know we can’t change the world of rare diseases on our own. Accomplishing this requires strong partnerships with patients, partners and stakeholders across the entire rare disease community.

One way this can be achieved is through collaborative working with the NHS.

The ABPI Code of Practice defines ‘Collaborative working’ as initiatives undertaken between one or more pharmaceutical companies, healthcare organisations and other organisations that either enhance patient care, are for the benefit of patients, or benefit the NHS and, as a minimum, maintain patient care. [i]

In addition, there should be a shared commitment to the successful delivery of the project across all the organisations involved. This means the initiative should be jointly developed and implemented, and involve the pooling of skills, experience and/or resources from all parties.

Joint working is a limited form of collaborative working. The key defining point that separates it from collaborative working, is that it is always for the benefit of patients.

To ensure full transparency, we publish a summary of any collaborative working project we are involved in. Click on the Executive Summary links below to learn more.
