Manufacturing
Our manufacturing expertise and capabilities span from production of active drug substance and drug product to packaging and labeling.
The active drug substance for Multiferon is produced at our facility near Umeå in northern Sweden. In most other cases, we rely on successful collaborations with external partners. The active drug substance for Kineret, for example, is provided by one contract manufacturing organization (CMO), while another handles the commercial production of the drug product and a third partner takes care of packaging and labeling.
Our supply chain specialists are responsible for planning and forecasting to meet market demand as well as keeping track of production costs. They also supply logistical knowhow to define and maintain an inventory strategy for intermediat and security stocks of finished goods.
Distribution
Our distribution networks ensure the supply of commercial products to customers such as wholesalers, hospitals and pharmacies.
The services provided consist of handling, warehousing, stock refill, order handling and transportation through local market organizations all over the world. The distribution teams must keep abreast of current local legislation and ensure that Good Distribution Practice (GDP) is maintained throughout the distribution structure in order to secure quality and traceability.
